Original language description
This work seeks to demonstrate and improve the current method of desalination and discolouration glucose syrup at our industrial partner. The aim is to find out if the proposed method is more efficient and more advantageous than the existing method. Theexisting method needs a large amount of oxalic acid, which is necessary to precipitate. In the product is seen a yellow colour, which is undesirable and reduces the final value of the product. The work proves, that proposed method can desalinate and partially decoloured the product using active carbon and electrodialysis. Using the recycling of oxalic acid, the consumption and thus the cost of production can be reduced.
