Ion exchange homogeneous membranes
Original language description
This bachelor thesis is dedicated to ion-exchange membranes, the homogeneous. The basic types of ion-exchange membranes are the anion-exchange, the cation-exchange and the bipolar membranes. Then the most important characteristics of the membranes such as IEC, resistance, permselectivity and the means to measure them are explained. Special emphasis is given to the relationship of said characteristics to the real-world applicability of membranes. The next chapter summarizes the most important synthesis, separation and conversion electromembrane processes and in the last chapter the most important methods of homogeneous ion-exchange membrane production are shown. This thesis is a literature survey which aims to connect and summarize the basic characteristics, production methods and real-world applications of homogeneous ion-exchange membranes.
