Tato práce seznamuje s problematikou objektů kritické infrastruktury a hrozbami, kterým by měly čelit. Současně informuje o možnostech zkoušení a testování konstrukce těchto staveb proti průniku projektilů, střepinám či výbuchu. Práce vychází ze zkušeností získaných při testování a hodnocení ochranných schopností vozidel dle STANAG 4569 (Protection levels for occupants of armoured vehicles), AEP-55 (Procedures for evaluating the protection level of armoured vehicles) a objektů kritické infrastruktury dle STANAG 2280, ed. 2 (Test procedures and classification of the effects of weapons on structures); ATP -3.12.1.8 (Test procedures and classification of the effects of weapons on structures).
