Czech Philosophy of the Past 25 Years

Original language description

I discuss the recent history of Czech philosophy and provide a survey. I divide my topic into (1) the people of continuity (those who remained in the profession in the 1970's and 1980's), (2) the people of discontinuity (those fired in the purges around1970), (3) the underground people (who got their philosophical education mainly in the underground circles and entered the profession after 1989), (4) the repatriated people (who were professionals abroad and chose to return), (5) the young generation educated mainly after 1989, and (6) the people of other professions who nonetheless produced work of relevance in philosophy.
