Migration is highly structured aspect of human behavior. This process can be very well studied through appropriate preserved sources. The sources themselves are consequently limits of the potential research and hierarchical levels or methodological approaches. Appropriate sources of migration process, whether just in the movement from place to place at a certain time or in the context of horizontal and vertical social mobility, depends mainly on the moment in which we try to capture this dynamic process. In an effort to move us towards a better understanding of urban migration as a background the 17th century society transition and political raptures (General crises), this paper examines the main methodology aspects of possible research on major sources Rolls of Freemen ? town books which contain the written records of migrants which become Prague burghers.
