The integrity of a machined surface is a combination of various characteristics that describe the functional properties of the surface and describes the topographic aspects of the surface and their physical and chemical properties, as well as their mechanical and metallurgical properties and characteristics. Surface integrity is important in finishing manufacturing operations, because it affects the properties of the product, such as its fatigue strength, corrosion resistance, service life etc. Different aspects of surface integrity are discussed.

Integrita povrchu je kombinace různých charakteristik, které určují funkční vlastnosti povrchu součástí, popisují topografické aspekty povrchu, jeho fyzikální a chemické vlastnosti, stejně jako jeho mechanické a metalurgické vlastnosti a charakteristiky.Integrita povrchu je důležitá u dokončovacích operací se zřetelem na to, že určuje vlastnosti výrobku, jako je únavová pevnost, korozní odolnost, životnost apod. Různé aspekty integrity povrchu jsou v článku diskutovány.
