The main content of the experimental work is to analyze the surface roughness of castings, evaluation of surface defects in castings, microstructure evaluation of experimental alloy. In the middle and peripheral areas of castings were measured the size of dendritic cells and pores. A target of this experiment is to study the influence of molds on the size of dendritic cells and their crystal inhomogenity under the terms of individual dendrites themselves by typical gravitational casting of the alloy AlZn5,5Mg2,5Cu1,5.
