Presently by taking up of progressive technologies, the new materials of cutting tools, raise of cutting speeds are important information for us about machining process. This process is very dynamic that is why is necessary description of relative motionof cutting tool and workpiece and information of the chip creation. By the usage of High-speed Camera we have information about shape and size of chip, its motion after tool. These dates are unique for concrete material, cutting conditions a machining technology. At the Faculty of production technology and management of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem there this device is available, namely it is High-speed Camera Olympus i-speed 3 and the article shows its usage and possibilities for documentation of various types of machining.
