Original language description
The eutectic modification of the AlSi7Mg0.3 alloy with Sr allows for an effective refinement of the eutectic in aluminium alloys. The additive introduced as a modifier must have the following requirements: forming sufficiently strong adsorption bonds with melt modifying atoms, sufficient stability in the aluminium melt at high temperatures without changing the chemical composition. The aim of the realized experiment is first of all to investigate the distribution and influence of strontium in the structure of Al-Si alloys. Subsequently, an experiment was carried out on the quality evaluation of effect of the modifier on the structural integrity in AlSi7Mg0,3 alloy. Elemental distribution of Sr in the microstructure of AlSi7Mg0,3 alloy was determined by scanning electron microscope with EDS analyser.
