The article shows some outcomes of a project funded by the Czech Ministry of Education, carried out by the Language Centre of PF UJEP in 1998 - 1999. It briefly informs about the model of requirements of the language competence of the pedagogic faculty student, especially about the number of foreign languages, their choice, the target level of General Language and Language for Specific Purposes, and it introduces a possible curriculum of foreign languges for pedagogic faculties.
