Possibilities of Increasing Potential School Success of Children from Socio-Culturally Deprived Environment
Original language description
Children from insufficiently stimulating backgrounds or a different sociocultural environment have to cope with a range of difficulties which complicate their entry to primary school and prolong the period of adaptation to a new environment. The school should ensure that a child of different social and cultural experience obtains a good education and that it will be able to learn effectively. This objective is facilitated by the establishment of preparatory classes in the Czech Republic. The author focuses on the methods of educational intervention and the preparation of children to enter school. She studies the targets and educational curriculum of preparatory classes in terms of cognitive skills development and the improvement of evaluation abilitiesof children.
