The contributing paper is focused on the information regarding the project concerning the development of primary education teachers' competences in managing the learning process of pupils within the educational area "Man and the World of Work", especially authority and teaching strategies related to the pupils' psychomotor skills in terms of optional forms and methods of teaching. The so-called Q - methodology was used in order to obtain the research data and we would like to present the results of thisconducted research. Special attention is focused on project-based learning and its position within teaching methods and teachers' authorities. The project is implemented in cooperation with students and teachers from the Faculty of Education of the JanEvangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, and with selected primary level teachers from basic schools in the Ústí nad Labem region.
