Teaching and Learing Througgh Narrative: Towards Holistic Approach OFof Moral Education
Original language description
Labyrinth of the world and paradise of the heart belongs to the jewels of Czech literature. The author - Jan Amos Comenius - consciously uses the allegorical narrative for didactic purposes, and his method proved to be very effective. The goal of this text is to explore the potential of the literary method from the perspective of moral education. The key questions are: How did Comenius convey moral content of his "lesson" in Labyrinth? Can anything of his "method" be transferred to the contemporary moral education? Or in general: How a narrative works as a tool of moral education. The paper attempts to outline answers to these questions.
