Applying Petri Nets to Modeling of Complex Systems Diagnosis

  • Original language description

The chapter tackles the problem of diagnosing of complex systems composed of units capable of executing tests on each other (so-called, mutual testing). There are two ways of how to implement mutual testing in complex systems, namely deterministic and random approaches. In the chapter, random execution of tests is considered. Diagnosis of complex systems based on random test execution has many parameters which are probabilistically defined. In view of this, it is difficult to determine in advance which of the system units will be tested after the lapse of pre-set time. Stochastic Petri Nets can be used for these purposes. Chapter presents the results of modeling of the diagnosis of simple complex systems performed on the basis of Petri Nets.
