The article is analysing the benefits from foreign direct investments for the regional development and is also focused on finding the differences in the localization of foreign direct investments in the Usti Region and its counties. The Usti Region is not behind the other regions in the amounts of the foreign direct investments; however it has less development science and research activities, innovation businesses and also has a worse educational and professional level of inhabitants. The divergent development processes were proved in the localisation of the foreign direct investments in the counties of Usti Region. The structure of the foreign investors in idnustrial zones in counties of Usti Region confirms particular asymmetry in socioeconomics development of the region that is in east-west trend. The higher risk of the asymmetric development within the Usti Region is in the bigger concentration of the foreign direct investments that are more dependent on the economic cycle. Consequ
