    Czechia Analysis ? key findings

  • Original language description

The analytical report is part of the GREENE 4.0 project aimed at promoting the adoption of green and digital technologies by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector in Central Europe. The study maps the current level of adoption of these technologies, barriers and factors affecting their implementation in seven countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Slovenia.Based on a questionnaire survey of 422 manufacturing SMEs, the analysis focuses on key aspects such as: technology and digitalisation; green manufacturing practices; supply chains and partnerships; financial aspects of technology adoption; expectations of effort and ease of use; attitudes towards innovation and change. The research uses the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to understand the factors influencing technology adoption. Barriers identified include high initial investment costs, unclear benefits, regulatory uncertainties and lack of expertise. Enablers include government incentives, networking, platforms and collaborative models with technology suppliers, and best practice examples of implementation.
