The Methodology of Melioration and Restoration of the Most Basin Anthropogenically Burdened Landscape
Original language description
The difficulties of the North Bohemian mine dumps reclamation works are caused by extremely unfavourable properties of rocks poured into the majority of mine dumps. These are mainly rocks of the overlaying strata and the rocks strata of brown coal bed. The main materials poured into the mine dumps are sands, clayey sands and kaolin - illitic clays. Admixtures in filled rocks consist of organic (coal) mass, siderite and pyrite. These rocks are mechanically instable with respect to the wind and water erosion and during weathering they are getting an unfavourable, acid (phytotoxic) nature, due to the influence of SO3 and Al ions. For this reason a detailed methodology for the Most Basin damaged areas reclamation needs to be prepared. This article lays out a conception of landscape reclamation of the largest dumps after finishing of mining, together with a methodology for technical reclamation and well-considered use of fertilizable soils.
