The former mine and its inner dump is the area of interest situated in the North-bohemian Brown Coal Basins. In the course of the mine opening and continuous operation the hydrogeological conditions of the outer environment were impacted or changed by previous long-term, first underground, later opencast coal mining. The abundant effluents of underground waters with low pH and high contents of dissolved substances, sulphates, manganese and iron were recorded in the residual pit. The waters were carriedoff to the pools of the local pump station and from here pumped to the recipient which is a waste runway of the river Bílina. By changing the valid legislation to stipulate mine waters discharging into recipients it was necessary to comply with the set valid limits. Czech description

Zájmovým prostorem je bývalý lom a jeho vnitřní výsypka nacházející se v oblasti severočeské hnědouhelné pánve na severozápadním okraji České republiky. Na přelomu 20. a 21. století byly v jižní části zbytkové jámy zaznamenány pramenní vývěry podzemníchvod s nízkým pH a vysokými obsahy rozpuštěných látek, síranů, manganu a železa, charakteristické pro vody výchozových partií sloje a zbytkových jam po hnědouhelném dobývání. Vody z těchto vývěrů byly odváděny do jímek místní čerpací stanice K28 a odtud čerpány do recipientu. V roce 2003 byl v zájmovém prostoru realizován soubor sanačních opatření, využívající i proces fytodekontaminace tak, aby vypouštěné vody vyhovovaly stanoveným limitům na kvalitu.
