Liquid sodium is considered as the coolant and heat carrier for the SFR in the GENERATION IV. CO2 is considered alternatively as a working medium in the SFR energy conversion system. Study on Na and CO2 interactions in case of leaks is performed in the contribution based on laser ablation methods resulting in carbon content determination in the solified sodium after leak accident.
