In the days of 24th and 25th September 2009 was organised the international woekshop ? Safe and healthy walking and cycling in urban areas in Průhonice. The contribution has summarised the principles and methods for development of cycling and its infrastructure with the objective to contribute to increase of traffic safety. It deals with monitoring of the use of EU Structural Funds for construction of cycle paths in the Czech Republic, with collecting the data of the cycling infrastructure, with a conception of linear corridors and networking of cycling infrastructure in urban areas and open landscapes. It is focused also on issues related to accompanying bicycle infrastructure, such as the ?Bike and Ride? and ?Bike and Walk? systems.
