Optimalizace směrových návrhových prvků pozemních komunikací: úvod do problematiky a příprava pilotní studie

  • Original language description

According to traffic police statistics, the highest number of fatalities on Czech roads has been caused by inadequate speed. High portion of them happen on the undivided rural roads of the first and second class, in curves and their vicinity. Also the number and severity of accidents is higher compared to straight segments. One solution of this issue is consistent road design, which should allow driving with relatively constant speed corresponding to their expectations. The paper includes introduction to the quantification of a consistent design, an overview of the state of the art as well as Czech state and objectives of the pilot project.
