In the context of IPPC permits reviews for facilities handling hazardous clinical waste, operators informed us about a potential risk of the lack of capacity of facilities handling infectious clinical waste in the Czech Republic, particularly in the event of an unexpected facility shutdowns. This analysis aims to describe and verify the current state of capacity of hazardous clinical waste facilities in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the aim of the analysis is to update the information on waste production after the COVID-19 pandemic and to define possible medium-term risks.
