Original language description

The paper introduced the preference model of activity in advanced age as a proposed new approach to older people activity and employment. The model is based on the presumption that there exists a normal distribution of activity in the population and thatpeople tend to maintain the same level of activity throuhg the whole life cycle, even though the forms and the content of activities themselves may change. The paper argues that position of the individual within the model will bw based on preferences and values rather than variables such as age, education, or health status. The paper provides an outline of the theory of preference model of activity in advanced age as well as preliminary evidence gained from the leisure activities of Czech older people.

Článek představuje preferenční model aktivity v pokročilém věku jako navržený nový přístup k aktivitám a zaměstnání starších lidí. Model je založen na předpokladu, že existuje normální distribuce aktivit v populaci a že lidé mají tendenci udržovat stejnou úroveň aktivit v celém životním cyklu, i když formy a obsah samotných aktivit se mohou měnit. Zpráva argumentuje, že pozice jednotlivce v rámci modelu bude založena spíše na preferencích a hodnotách, než na takových proměnných jako je věk, vzdělání nebo zdravotní stav. Poskytuje nástin teorie preferenčního modelu aktivit v pokročilém věku a předběžné důkazy získané z volnočasových aktivit českých starších lidí.
