The Immigrant Family in the Integration Process
Original language description
The text returns to contemporary migration. The main objective of the research project was to identify if and to what extent the family can represent a successful strategy for facilitating immigrants? integration as well as for absorbing and mitigating the hardest and most painful effects brought by the migration experience. A cross-national comparative analysis was achieved in order to assess different integration trajectories of individual immigrants and immigrant families accordingly. The data collected is of a qualitative nature and is particularly huge and extremely varied in nature, composed of a collection of 77 family?s interviews carried out in five European countries. Our attempt with the building of a general framework of analysis was to make it possible for every European partner to achieve a cross-national comparative analysis.
