Original language description

The NPI neutron facility, based on the isochronous cyclotron U-120M is being upgraded to perform neutronic experiments, initiated by the Czech national program LA-0 of incineration of PWR spent fuel in molten-salt transmuters . In the first stage of theprogram, the experimental investigation of yield characteristics of fast neutrons from medium-energy light-nuclei reactions is under way. This knowledge is needed to optimize the target and beam options for neutron generator NG1 which should offer the monoenergetic neutrons with energies up to 30 MeV and yield up to 108 n/sr/s.
