LWR Severe Accident Simulation Fission Product Behavior in FPT2 Experiment
Original language description
Fission product behaviour in the Phebus FPT2 test was simulated. Measured data is described first. Explanation of the fission product release and their transport through the primary system using their chemistry is attempted, the results are compared to observation. Containment iodine chemistry was also studied, indicating the importance of gaseous iodine, the large part of which was in organic form. Partial change of gaseous iodine to small aerosol particles was observed, they are assumed to be iodine oxides. Their behaviour was studied, during the early phases it was influenced by other aerosol fission products coming from the primary system. Most iodine was finally captured in the alkaline sump, this was unaffected by the sump vaporization.
