Radiological situation and crises management after Fukushima accident
Original language description
Black-out due to earthquake and lost of emergency cooling after following tsunami led to the severe nuclear accident on Fukushima-Daiichi NPS. Brief description of decisions and actions of crises management at affected nuclear reactors and population intheir vicinity is presented influenced complicated situation due to destruction of infrastructure, when the priority was to safe people struck by tsunami. NRI software RaCon was used for evaluation of radiological consequences. Officially published datawere used for rough estimation of a source term. Comparison of calculated and measured population effective doses and surface contamination is presented as a result of simulated release of radioactivity after this accident in regional scale up to 30 km from NPS. Discussion of further steps on how to be prepared and how to respond to events with very low probability but with severe consequences will be provided.
