Driers suitable for high solids alkyd paints
Original language description
Conventional solvent borne alkyds don?t correspond with recommendations of European institutions with regard to the content of volatile compounds. This problem can be solved by the use of high solids alkyds. However, many of these binders have insufficient properties such as long drying time, bad appearance and also very low hardness. In recent years, new driers for high solids coatings have been developed. The newest type of Mn or Fe based driers in combination with secondary driers based on Ca, Zr, Srand Al was used as suitable drier?s systems for high solids alkyds.
