Layered organophosphonates belong to a large group of hybrid organic-inorganic materials. These benefit from the well-defined structure of their inorganic part and the presence of organic moieties which can be modified to obtain desired properties and enhance compatibility with polymers. This work is focused on layered calcium phenylphosphonate (CaPhP), especially on its synthesis and production of nanosheets via Top-down approach by liquid based exfoliation.
