Carbon materials suitable for membranes for gas separation
Original language description
Current researches pay a great attention to gas separation. Traditional materials for membrane production such as polymer and silica are slowly replaced by graphene based sheets. In this work we study different oxidation methods for carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and their effects on resulting properties. We are able to prepare CNT with different degree of oxidation according to the oxidation agents. It is possible to prepare self-standing gas separation membranes from these materials by simple filtration. These membranes are able to separate H2/CO2 mixtures thanks to presence of oxygen groups.
