    Model of binding point in comparison with a real fabric This paper presents a method of comparison of calculated shape of a fabric in plain weave with the shape of a real fabric. The theoretic shape is determined by using methods of classical mechanics.The cross sections of a real fabric are obtained with a microscope. An image analysis is then used to compare the theoretic shape with the reality. The same shape functions are used either in the model and in the image analysis to fit the real fabric profile so a direct comparison is possible.
