Measurement of Real Sliver Mass Using Resistance Force Sensor
Result description
Linear mass and the level of unevenness are basic quality factors for slivers and rovings. The present paper is focused on the sliver mass measurement by using a sensor with a resistance force principle. The main part of the work was experimentally finding the best relation function between linear mass and resistance force, which is strongly non-linear. This is necessary for the measurement of the real values of the sliver mass. The effects act on the resistance force value are also observed and evaluated. Some methods of compensation are designed. The measurement of sliver?s linear mass by the resistance principle was realized as input of the regulation circuit on draw-frame unit of a newly designed card machine.
