Original language description
A machine tool for milling and grinding of the contours of radial cams (Fig.1). The machine conception allows to remove the necessary grinding allowance by milling and thus to achieve the high productivity of grinding because the final grinding operation takes place with the material allowance of some hundredths of a millimetre. The grinding machine is based on modular units of renowned manufacturers. These are primarily drives, linear axes, spindle and controller. The control system has been developed in VÚTS based on the long-term research of applications of Yaskawa electronic cams, which are integrated in the system and allow an effective control of the manufacturing NC axes. The direct measurement of interpolation axes (with possible dimensional analysis of eccentricity of cam positioning and cam contour without necessity to remove the workpiece from the machine) provides a high dimensional accuracy of the contours of ground cams.
