Original language description
The application potential of electronic cams with new synergistic properties also consists in combination with conventional mechanisms. The mechanisms can be arranged in parallel or in series . An example of the parallel combination of a conventional mechanism (four-bar or cam one) with an electronic cam is a mechatronic differential drive that extends the usability of electronic cams for example in the field of force indexing motions. The chapter deals with the industrial prototype of a differential drive for indexing motions where one of the force inputs is derived from a conjugate cam mechanism.
