The invention relates to a gripper for a manipulation arm of a manipulation device for automatic exchange of cutting tools, where the gripper comprises a frame on which a rigid support is mounted, and a pair of gripping means comprising pressing elements is further mounted on the gripper frame, the rigid support is provided with a pair of abutment elements which are arranged axially symmetrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the gripper in the shape of the letter V, where the abutment elements are adapted to fit into the manipulation groove of the tool holder of the cutting tool and to hold the tool holder of the cutting tool by the manipulation groove, wherein the pair of gripping means is provided with a pair of pressure fingers oriented opposite each other axially symmetrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the gripper, wherein each pressure finger is pivotably mounted in the gripper frame and is provided at its free end with a pressure element which is situated at a level in front of one abutment element of the rigid support, wherein the pressure element is adapted to fitting into the handling groove of the tool holder of the machining tool and for securing the tool holder of the machining tool to the handling groove.
