Neuronal Network for Tool Wear Monitoring on the Acoustic Emission Signal Basis
Original language description
The acoustic emission (AE) phenomenon is very often used for the monitoring of cutting tool state. It seems that, the most sensitive and the informative component of the AE signal is its amplitude, because the magnitude of amplitudes carrying informationabout energetic processes taking place in the area of the chip forming. By the other words, amplitudes of AE signal carrying information from the cutting area where new surface of a machined component just originates. Monitoring of AE signal is important because the quality of the new surface depends before anything else on the cutting edge state and therefore the state of the cutting edge stands in the centre of the interest of research. Previous good experience with the ts. AE signal amplitude distribution into a number of energetic levels for the cutting tool wear monitoring brings to idea to use frequency of occurrence of AE signal impulses from the particular energetic levels for processing these data by a neural
