Variational formulation of the state problem where the relationship between stress and strain is governed by viscoelastic Hook's law steps from an elastic analogy. In the theory of viscoelasticity of course the coefficients of the Hook's law are not constants but they are represented by decreasing functions of time what makes less but not invincible complication in the proofs of existence and uniqueness of solution of such a problem.

Czech description
Variační formulace stavové úlohy ve které se vztah mezi napětím a deformací řídí viskoelastickým Hookovým zákonem vychází z elastické analogie. V teorii viskoelasticity ovšem koeficienty Hookova zákona nejsou konstanty nýbrž jsou popsány klesající funkcíčasu, což činí menší, nikoli však nepřekonatelný problém při dokazování existence a jednoznačnosti řešení této úlohy.
