    Corrosion Resistance of Fe3Al ? Based Iron Aluminide in Soda Potash Molten Glass and in Lead Molten Glass.

  • Original language description

    Iron aluminide with cerium additive excels in high corrosion resistance and low material cost. Therefore iron aluminide is possible to use for constructional elements in glass making. The laboratory tests were carried out in soda-potash molten glass andmolten lead crystal. The corrosion resistance of iron aluminide was compared with stainless steel in both molten glasses. The corrosion resistance was determined by measurement of weight gains, chemical analysis of surface layer, change of roughness andmicrostructure. The important parameter is also observation of the glass tinting after interaction with alloys.

    Korozní odolnost aluminidu železa na bázi Fe3Al v sodnovápenaté sklovině a v olovnaté sklovině.

  • Czech description

    Aluminid železa s cérem vyniká vysokoteplotní korozní odolností. Proto aluminid železa lze použít pro konstrukční aplikace ve sklářství. Laboratorní testy byly provedeny v sodnovápenaté sklovině a v olovnatém křišťálu. Korozní odolnost byla porovnána s korozivzdornou ocelí v obou sklovinách. Korozní odolnost byla stanovena měřením změny hmotnosti, chemickou analýzou povrchové vrstvy, změnou drsnosti povrchu a mikrostruktury. Důležitým parametrem je také pozorování zbarvení skla vlivem interakce se slitinami.
