MEASUREMENT OF BUBBLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION BY ACOUSTIC BUBBLE SPECTROMETER (ABS)
Original language description
The article describes device for measurement of cavitation bubble size distribution by Acoustic Bubble Spectrometer - ABS (Dynaflow). The measurement is based on fact that if a cavitation bubble field with different bubble radii is exposed by acoustic field with frequency close to resonant frequency of some bubbles the acoustic energy on these bubbles is absorbed more effectively on bubbles which frequency differs from the frequency of acoustic field. If the bubble field is sampled by different frequencies it is possible to obtain number of bubbles corresponding to these frequencies. ABS utilizes two sets of piezoelectric transducers. One of each pair is used to produce the acoustic signal and the second is used to receive this signal. The acoustic signal transmitter is controlled by pulse generator and the signal from receiver is detected by high frequency oscilloscope. The processing of the signal is processed resulting in set of differential equations, which solution results in bubb
