Original language description
Polyurethane foam (PU) is currently the most used material for manufacture of seats (seats in vehicles, the seat housing, etc.) and also mattress for beds and special mattress for a bedsores prevention. PU foam properties are especially damping, springing and comfort. A computer simulation of the PU foam allows an analysis of its properties, which can not be measured or determined in real experiments. Among these properties belongs a contact pressure between PU foam and indentors with complicate geometric shape. Virtual finite element model of PU foam with nonlinear material properties was based on Kelvin model. Experimental data were used as the main source of information for the model.
