Influence of drying time on weld strength of polyamide with use of ultrasonic welding
Original language description
The welding is very often using for fixed connection of plastic parts. Eg. in the industry, several methods are used for welding. For production in large series is an appropriate method ultrasonic welding. It is a welding with special electrode, so-called sonotrode. The sonotrode oscillates in ultrasonic frequency (20 kH and more). This article deals with the ultrasonic welding of polyamide 6. This material is characterized by high hardness, strength, toughness and excellent sliding properties. But he has hight water moisture absorption. Therefore, the polyamide. The polyamide (PA) must be dry before a processing (eg. injection moulding). The Aim of this article is to ascertain the influence of drying tiem on weld strength of polyamide with use of ultrasonic welding.
