Data gained by drilling geopolymers
Original language description
Requirements on the functional properties of individual components in the engineering production are constantly increasing. In some cases research and development in the material engineering field allow to replace the previously used metallic materials by non-metallic materials. One of the possible options is the utilization of geopolymers . The geopolymers are inorganic, artificial materials which exceed similar natural materials by some of their properties. Due to their low energy and financial performance in the production geopolymers penetrate to various industrial fields. Waste products from heating and power plants (fly ash, blast furnace slag) can be sometimes used for the production of geopolymers and therefore its production is also importantfrom the environmental point of view. The use of geopolymers in specific applications expects their final machining to the desired shape and size. This article focuses on the geopolymers machining technologies of spiral drilling.
