Original language description
The paper is concerned with issues of the drive of small-diameter knitting machines and the choice of its optimal structure in reference to working diagram of knitting process. Based on an analysis of the machine, there has been devised a new structure employing controlled drives. When devising it, emphasis has been laid on minimization of the consumption of electric power and on simplifying mechanical section of the structure. There have been carried out an analysis and a comparison of dynamic characteristics of the newly proposed concept with the existing structure, employed in the design of the machine nowadays
