The efficiency of internal CO2 cooling in relation to product volume and thickness
Original language description
All production companies are under increasing pressure for cheaper production. This is the incentive to continuously look for suitable process optimization. Introduced research is connected to our long term aim focused on improving the cooling ability ofblow molding machines. Several useful optimizations for this part of the process have been developed. One of the most efficient of these solutions is internal cooling. Internal cooling is a way of improving the cooling of hollow products with the help of a special transport medium, such as deep frozen air (-35°C), water mist or the inert gas as carbon dioxide (-78°C). Although this technology has been known for some time, it has not been widely used until now. The reason for this was due to insufficient exploration of its applicability. For general usage it is necessary to give a producer clear information, especially about profitability. The planned studies are therefore focused on exploring the efficiency and also recoverability of i
