This article focuses on the prevention of environmental pollution. It describes three main fields of management systems: quality management, management of health and safety at work and environmental management. The article also presents two used standards of environmental management system, specifically implementation according to international technical standards ISO 14001 and implementation according to the program EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme). More specializes in voluntary approaches for preventing environmental pollution and states which voluntary approaches can assist in the implementation of environmental management system.
