In the paper is described system for gauge blocks (GBs) contact?less calibration and their 3D diagnostic in comparison to two classic calibration methods which are mentioned in the international standard EN ISO 3650 and which are commonly used for GBs calibration. In terms of the first calibration method ? the comparison one, is GB subjected to contact measurement and comparison of length is done by the reference GB. The second calibration method rests in the system when GB is wrung to the reference plane and as a GB length is presented optically measured distance between reference plane and free GB face. Such length is corrected by environment effects. At the newly designed calibration system is measurement of GB length carry out as contact?less usingonly white light and HeNe laser emission. GB length is then determinate as contact?less and with the direct sequence on the definition of length unit (one meter). Scanning of GBs faces is done by means of camera which also makes possible
