  • Original language description

    The paper deals with the physical-mechanical characteristics of polymer composites on the basis of natural coir fibers and biopolymer PLA (Polylactic acid) matrices. There are evaluated physical and mechanical properties of composites in dependence on natural fibers length and their amount in biopolymer matrix. There is also described influence of fibers on the course of melt and cold (secondary) polymer composite crystallization by means of differential scanning calorimetry. There is observed that coirfibers work like natural nucleating agents and thus subsequently improve the material properties of PLA.
