Original language description
The strength of sewn seam is one of the main quality parameter of clothing. Regarding the problems of technological process of sewing, this research should promote the sewn seam tensile testing. Seam strength is a characteristic which manifested during the action of external forces. According to the method of strain the sewn seams have to resists the forces. In this study, four different sizes of spun polyester and polyamide thread were sewn on a material (used for car seat cover) through lockstitch. Byusing the Instron Testing Machine for static test and device made for measuring the dynamic strain the average load of seam strength were obtained. This study focused on one main objective: to determine the difference between static and dynamic sewn seam strength by using different methods of measurement.
