    Numerical investigations of the unsteady flow in melted aluminium alloys

  • Original language description

    Metallurgical processes require a huge amount of the energy needed for heating and transport of the melted materials. In order to control heat losses and temperature levels of the melted metal or alloys, a total heat balance in the furnace should be studied in order to improve operating conditions of furnace equipment. Significant temperature differences exist because of different heating fluxes. The numerical simulation of the heat and mass transfer can be applied in order to obtain the temperature and velocity fields of the melted metals. These results can be used to design operating conditions of the furnace as well.
