    Experimental investigation of fan for personal protection equipment – influence of number of blades

  • Original language description

    The aim of the research is a fan for personal protective equipment. The task of the ventilator is to drive polluted air containing harmful or irritating particles through the filters and into the mask of a worker, eg a firefighter, a worker or a technician. The fan is measured on the air track, the characteristics, ie the dependence of the achieved working pressure of the fan on the flow rate and the required power input, are evaluated. The work deals mainly with the influence of the number of blades. Experimentally determined characteristics of wheels made with 3D printing technology are compared with different number of blades and curves obtained by analytical calculation. The influence of the number of blades on local vortex loss and impeller friction loss is discussed.
